Why should we have separate denominations?

Today a lot of Christian see other Christians and why they have to be separated. Why can't all Christians come together in the name of Christ and just be at peace. Maybe, they figure, if we are at peace with each other, then the world will want to join us.

This is a noble desire, but it is also both ignorant and foolish. The reason is that we tend to think that we are ambassadors even though we forget that we are also soldiers at war with the devil and His angels.
The Devil has throughout history used these shallow forms of unity to deceive believers.
Why are they shallow because we are talking about unity with out faith. Jesus wants unity of the faith, not without it.
17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
John 17:20-23 KJV

Jesus wants us to be one church but only one in type.
4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 4:3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4:4 [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 4:6 One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4:1-6 KJV

Today's ecumenical movement want millions of differing opinions alll together for Jesus(whatever that means to you!)

Now there are reason's to separate and reasons not to separate

reasons to separate are:

1. The congregation accepts sin
5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
1 Corinthians 5:10-11 KJV

2. The congregation is made up of believers and unbelievers
6:11 O [ye] Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. 6:12 Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels. 6:13 Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto [my] children,) be ye also enlarged. 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:11-14 KJV

3. The congregation disagrees with apostolic teaching
16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Romans 16:17 KJV

reasons not to separate are

1. extra biblical differences of opinion
14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 14:11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in [his] brother's way.
Romans 14:10-13 KJV

2. pride
9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part. 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Mark 9:38-41 KJV

3. differences of culture, race and sex
3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 3:29 And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:27-29 KJV

One reasons these biblical separations are good is that they can help contain false teaching. One denomination may have it's problems, but that is different from every Christian with the same problems.

Why do we separate from others? Because we do not love the things of this world; Intead we love God.
2:15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 2:16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:15-17 KJV
4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Matthew 4:8-10 KJV

In Christ,
Matt

The Bible Citation is from 1John Chapter 5

[16] If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that.
[17] All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal.

It's always the same way....
Challenge an anti-Catholic and they fold like a cheap camera.

Hello

*tap tap*

Are you there?

You said ''mortal sin'' was a ''catholic invention''. The Scriptures say different. Do you have an answer?

Are you afraid of a legitimate debate?

I'll be here.

Still no answer on 1 John 5?

Why are you running?

First of all it isn't very brave of you to comment on on old articles and challenge a fellow where he may not nottice. That's like me yelling at you in my back yard when I do not even know if you are in the country. Secondly I nottice that you did not even respond to this actual article. how stupid is that?

now as to your challenge.
I have responded to this on blogtalkradio.com on my second show regarding the RCC in which anewtone did not even show up or comment. And which he is currently acting like a baby crying about how he can't debate me.

However, you must be using a new catholi freindly translation as oppoto the real word of God.
It does not say "mortal sin" in a literal translation. it is "a sin unto death" meaning physical death.
btw, do you guys ever have an explanation for not praying for a sinner? if you interpret the passage that way then God does not want to forgive certain people.

Also, I have talked on my show about a Duoey Rheims Bible I have that is the historic famous Catholic Bible and it's commentators argued that this passage has nopthing to do with mortal and venial sin.
Also it is an ignorant argument to act as if some sins don't matter. The Lord demands that we not break the least of his commandments. The only way out is forgiveness from Jesus Christ not a defiled RCC priest.
