"Is genesis history" a post movie review.

Ok, So I would like to review "Is genesis History?" I just got home. I am shooting from the hip I did not take notes.
Production
The biggest performer in this production was the scenery. They were all over the world in incredible locations with awesome angles. The video production crew was a world class quality.
There is a long series of interviews with about half a dozen scientists. most of which are associated with major creation science ministries. They divide the topics up into geology, Bible history, paleontology, biology, astronomy, archaeology and the big picture in the garden.
After the movie it actually extended in a post movie roundtable discussion.
positives
The movie is very efficiently produced. being on locations has a hi impact. Showing the Mt. St. Helen's sites really demonstrates the flaws of uniformitarian ism. The visuals of the canyons revealing color differences in the rock layers and realizing that these layers are connecting thousands of miles of rocklayers stack so intricately requires a global amount of water to move it.
The distance of certain (scratching lines? i forgot what they called it) across the mountains showing short measurements between each other indicating faster movements and a catastrophe.
demonstrations of the stretchy dinosaur soft tissue.
The Hebrew scholar noting the nature of the text as a narrative and not poetic literature according to the Hebrew context.
Robert Carter a marine biologist stole the show in terms of personality (Idk if it is the same guy Teno :p )
The discussion at the end of the program was really helpful talking about issues in creation science and how research is growing and the challenges regarding how much material to present and how technical to make it.
btw, the theater was almost sold out! another theater in the city was sold out.
criticism)
It is really hard to say if this was for unbelievers or believers. we have to assume it was for believers.
packing all the issues of creation science in two hours is a daunting task I explained my cosmology in 13 hrs on youtube. but two hrs is a lot of time to demand of someone. Even church kids are not necessarily science kids and we live in an ADD generation. but there was a nerdy boy at the ticket counter who was excited to go!
The format was ultimately an interview lecture. large large gaps of time with monologing answers. Very little music, no jokes, only one style of illustrating with a magic pencil upon a brown paper bag back drop. As obsessed with creation science as I am there were still extra long winks! Geology is a boring topic it should probably have been discussed later.
There is too much in house academia. Yes they typically more sophisticated, popular and have access to the best equipment, But they are often ignorant of the history of creation science and instead trained with som many naturalistic pressupositions that they accidently import unbiblical assumptions and ideas which are more in accord with evolution.
The technical language is not helpful. Nobody is being graded as to how much info they retain so if you loose the audience with technical phrases you loose your influence.
Creationist are correct in place history over science. But sometimes they do not carry this fact to it;s logical conclusion.
History is our evidential starting point! Science must submit to it and not the other way around. evidentialism does not work unless it is based in scripture. There will never be evidence that debunks scripture!
I believe the interviewer was part of the truth project under "focus on the family. He was an ID guy if I recall. Of course he may have switched to YEC , which is cool!
The guy presenting mark Armitage's research if I recall had controversy with him. I saw a youtube video wereI think Mark accused him of taking crfedit for his research. But I could have the wrong guy or they may have reconciled.
It was admitted in the post discussion that there are so many theories and they just change according to the ideas they "like more". it is annoying how a lot of good ideas have been ignored.
For instance the g;obal hurricane idea from CPT catastrophic olate tectonics where the storm makes the ice age just never made sense to me. the ice canopy theory is by far a superior explanation.
concept
Just what was the purpose of this event. I felt pretty rushed to find the time for this specific day. evangelism? Fund raising? education?
All of which have flaws. but perhaps this will prove succesful only time will tell.
feelings
all in all it is good to get the public informed about creation science.
But I do feel that as the creation science movement is growing I think the leadership is losing a lot of what has been great about the movement.
There is less scientific free thinking, more compromises with heresy, There is a concentrated effort to "tame" creation science advocates within the camp.
As the rappers say "mo' money mo' problems!"
As I exited I saw a pack of college age kids. four kids looking "churched" a shy girl with skepticisms. she was asking questions about languages and youths didn't have an answer. I really wanted to but in, but I was a stranger and then as I was about to step in any my wife came out of the bathroom and it was time to go.
Wether I made the right call or notI do wish they had something for interaction. anyways I give it a B.

More proof of a biblically round earth. (note ether)

More proof of a biblically round earth.
"Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day."
The firmament of Heaven here is an expanse. The expanse of the universe has been called space and is better understood as the ether. The firmament is holding the sun and stars as they are a part of the ether,
Psalms 19:4
Their line is gone out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5
which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6
His going forth is from the end of the heaven,
and his circuit unto the ends of it:
and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof."
The sun is fixed in the ether/firmament so if the sun is racing then the firmament is racing with it.
Genesis 19:23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar."
if the sun rises, then the ether rises and sets along side does circuits around the earth.
Flat earth states there are ends to the earth.
Then the universe is moving around the earth.
Job 26:7
He stretcheth out the north over the empty place,
and hangeth the earth upon nothing."
The ether is identified as empty places and by implication nothing.
By going around the earth which is 3d and round
isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth,
and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers;
that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain,
and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
The flat earths have to re-interpret the "nothing" of job to the great deep waters which destroyed the earth(?)
A global biblical universe fits with the biblical globed earth.

REsponse:59 Percent of Millennials Raised in a Church Have Dropped Out—And They’re Trying to Tell Us Why

 http://faithit.com/12-reasons-millennials-over-church-sam-eaton/

Actually the statistic is positive. In my day the drop out rate was 91%. But statistics are fallacious anyways(inductive fallacy). I also wonder about how the house churches were regarded.
The author sneaks in a false gospel from the start. The gospel is not about this life!!! my destination is not an air-conditioned concert venue!!! By the blood of Jesus Christ my destination is Heaven!

Trying to make a different body of Christ as a heaven on earth social gospel is poop. They tried the social gospel in the 50's and what happened is that got away from the gospel of Christ and were taken over by communist! Churches started celebrating idolatry, abortion and sodomy.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump! most churches are perverted from what The Bible requires. This is why they have altered bibles by the multitudes, just to keep The Holy Bible from being the Divine authority. Instead having the pastors become idols and when they are exposed they let the younger generation fall.
Here is my book about the situation years ago before things got bad.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1463753136/ref=cm_sw_su_dp
But the whole attitude of the article is a CON.

Also just try to go through the Bible and find me a single verse where churches are called invisible.  This teaching came from platonism and gnosticism.

 http://biblesmack.blogspot.com/2010/03/who-is-new-testament-church.html

Churches gave the children the spiritual Pot of entertainment based Christianity. So the author wants us to shoot up liberal heroin!
The Bible teaches to honor the father and mother, not to worship youth! It does not matter what they "want", because their wants are both in the flesh and spiritually immature.
If young people want to establish biblical new testament churches they are more than welcome to. But God does not bless rebellion!!!
Young people running from the church must realize that they will be discipline at best and burn for all eternity if they don't repent.
Being nice feels good but ultimately it has NO ABILITY TO SAVE!

Real love doesn't seek approval real love only brings life!

Silly scholarship in the "ESV bible"

Authorized King James Version
1 Timothy 4: But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness."

English Standard Version
1Timothy 4: Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;"

Other versions of 1 timothy 4:7 supporting KJV reading
ASV   "but refuse profane and old wives’ fables. And exercise thyself unto godliness: "
NIV "Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly."
NASB " But [c]have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; "
Geneva Bible  "[p]But cast away profane, and old wives’ fables, [q]and exercise thyself unto [r]godliness."
Complete Jewish Bible  " But refuse godless bubbe-meises, and exercise yourself in godliness."
" (Jewish, literally) A grandmother's fable. Although very close to the idea of an old wives' tale, bubbe-meise is a shade more serious." https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/bubbe-meise
Douay Rheims  " But avoid foolish and old wives' fables: and exercise thyself unto godliness."
International standard version " Do not have anything to do with godless myths and fables of old women. Instead, train yourself to be godly."
New living Translation  " Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly."
New King James version " But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness."
Young's literal translation " and the profane and old women's fables reject thou, and exercise thyself unto piety,"

Now these translations are generally conservative but they have a wide range.
This issue of translating the passage is not limited to the Textus Receptus Greek NT since the latin based douay Rheims and the alexandrine based ASV both agree.  There are other TR based agreement found in the geneva bible.  Majority text agreement in the NKJV. And even the Messianic Jewish Bible genrally agrees.  More important than this dynamic equivalence still allows for this translation in the NLT and NIV!
As far as I can tell the "silly" tradition comes from the RSV and amplified Bible and is preserved in liberal and modernistic versions.
Vines Expository Dictionary points out the greek Gra'ode's  or Old Wives is defined thus...
"GRAODES  "an adjective, signifying old womanish (from

graus, an old woman), is said of fables, in Timothy 4:7."

Now the reason this is being translated as "silly" is quite obvious.
FEMINISM!
the Revised Standard Version had the notorius nickname "The Red Bible"  not only for liberal translations but because some translators were outted as members of the US communist party.

Feminism hasbeen a clearly wing of the socialist agenda.

Does the idea of old wives fables, express a sexist stereotype? Yes!
So obviously The verse shold be changed to be correct.

So obviously we should correct what God says in order for Him to live up to our standards.

NO!!!
The Word of God is divinely Authoritative,  The word of man is subjective at best and at worst evil.  The job of a translation should not be to interpret the scriptures but only to translate the scriptures.  It is possible that "old wives tales" figuratively means "silly myths"  but perhaps God is using this phrase to correct a problem manifested in the life of many elderly woman.  Perhaps this also serves as a powerful illustration for the people of the time.

Here the Battle is obvious  The "gender inclusive" debate has become a popular debate in recent years.

The problem of this issue hits the heart of humanism vs. The heart of Christianity.  Humanism has to unconstrained by any label from God.  Christianity must have a sovereign God.  In reaction New evangelicals are quick to claim to be orthodox and champions for God.
But in reality they are committing as much heresy as possible as long as they are not caught.
The ESV is a pretty New translation.  I saw it coming out in 2002. Quickly popular preachers endorsed it an churches started using it and buying it.  it was hailed as the most literal translation of scriptures.

Actually the most literal translation in the strict word for word equivalence is Young's literal translation.  KJV is the most pound for pound however.  The reason it is because the translators recognizing difficulties carrying over implied meanings and so they use word to translate those meaning across to other parts of the sentence packing a dynamic translation inside the formal equivalence translation.
The New American Standard is the most literal of the contemporary alexandrine translations and those who favor it as the "most literal" have not been swayed by the ESV.
So what is the ESV then if it not the literal scriptures?
The ESV is the current" New Evangelical"  Vulgate!

proposed for marriage.. (a state legislative proposed solution for marriages.) Family Covenant Marriage

Family Covenant Marriage.
A. These marriages would be traditional (one man + One woman, no genetic nuclear family members)
B. The parties would screen each other, each spouse would get a background check(credit, legal) upon the other.(assuming they consent)
C. A legal counselor(typically the officiating minister) is empowered with a legal status to protect the marriage/family. This begins with pre-marriage counseling. All parties are to be trained in trained and informed as to the nature of this marriage contract. The parents/guardians and other family is invited for a family counseling session. Obviously this would be a part but not the whole of the counseling.
D. The minister will be empowered to have a counseling role for the remainder of the marriage. That role will be left to the religious denomination if the minister is no longer able to play that role.(with consent of couple) All counselors will be subject to the will of the couple. Secular people can have a psychologist or other counselor fill in for this role. The counselor will also be placed in authority for emergency situations. Thereby, they will replace the authority of Child Protective Services and if CPS is called they will defer to the counselor. This is assuming the couple has full custody of the children. If there is a parent outside of the marriage the party must give permission for the counselor to have authority in such matters. If their is unnecessary violence, that is deemed uncontrollable, the counselor can defer to the police. Meetings are assumed to be sporadic only necessary over lengths of years and agreed upon by the couple and counselor.
E. The minister/guardian counselor has the ability to opt out of their role. If this counselor feels that the couple is secretly becoming a threat (violent or felonious) and they are unable to keep the couple accountable, the authorities will be notified, and they will immediately notify the couple that they are back under local jurisdiction until 2 weeks after a new counselor is acquired).
F. Adultery is a breach of contract and determines the monetary outcome of a divorce.
F. Abandonment is a breach of contract and determines the monetary outcome of a divorce.
G. Physical abuse is to be handled as a separate matter by the local police. Though the contract is not necessarily terminated, trial separation can be enforced by the will of the spouse or the counselor in this case. Emergency Protective Orders can be useful in the situation. Yet the fact that EPO's can be used without violence and employed at times where the spouse may be lacking judgement, the counselor has the authority to override the EPO if they deem the couple not cognitive of the consequences, as poor judgement may not see the damage done professionally, legallly, and socially within the family unit.
H. The couple must see their counselor for an extended period if seeking divorce.
I. If the couple is unsatisfied with their counselor, they can get a new one after petitioning the county clerk, However, both parties must agree upon the counselor.
J. Much like the "prenuptial agreement" these are contractual amendments that must be agreed upon voluntarily and not coerced. So this is not imposed on the population, only offered.
K. Couples may individually make their own amendments to the covenant as long as both parties agree.

Faked evangelism

Watching the Superbowl I was amazed at a play where the offense faked a pass. In other words, the quarterback handed off the ball but was able to deceive on lookers thinking instead that he had possession of the ball and was in the process of making a pass.
http://wpmedia.news.nationalpost.com/2015/01/nfc_championship_football.jpg?w=620
Recently I saw that very same thing being done with the gospel.
The preacher was elegant. He could sound pious and grave. He could tell a few jokes the audience related to. He could quote Augustine and refer to the scriptures. He discussed biblical themes like creation and the second coming. He referred to the cross, faith and obedience. He even stated that our love of Jesus was of primary importance. Finally He stated things discussing the walk of faith and how God was glorified in our obedience to baptism. There is no doubt that this was a great presentation!
The only thing missing was the gospel.
One theme that was constantly repeated is the idea of everything in the bible is a mystery. It may have been a mystery without the bible. But if you have the Holy Spirit's anointing and you have been a disciple of the scriptures those mysteries will be revealed!
1 Cor. 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
1 cor. 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
1 cor. 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
The gospel is a message to be believed. The good news is the message which saves us. As opposed to a series of directions to follow.

Lately I have been studying Spanish as there are more Spanish speakers in my life.  What I nottice is that when I speak Spanish I feel like a child.  I know some phrases but if they speak too fast or use a larger vocabulary, I am lost. As a child I remember vocabulary that I could not understand and seemed like gibberish. This has been an important lesson for me.  If we want to present the gospel we must not miss the details of the gospel because people unchurched and ignorant of the lingo, will not understand the gospel and they will saved unsaved in darkness.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
Faith in terms of the gospel is belief and not necessarilly
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is not a work.
Philippians 3: 9 and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:"
Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. "
Faith is received through the blood of Christ.
Romans 3:24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;"
Colossians 1:13 who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"
Ephesians 1:13 who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Grace is not a work
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
The Holy Spirit gives us spiritual new life and it is essential that we have eternal life.
titus 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
romans 8:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
Baptism starts our religion but religion does not save.
Acts 16:30 and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
Acts 10: 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?"
1 Peter 3: 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Our works will not save, they will only condemn us of our sins.
Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."
Gal. 2:16 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."
Rev. 22:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Most important is the fact that Jesus saves us from the eternal fires of hell. If we will not admit the facts of Hell then we will not need a savior.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
Mark 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt."
john 3: 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:"
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
We need to remember the urgency of the gospel
Luke 16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."
2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
Matthew 23: 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
