Reasoning for a merry christmas

The most famous controversy.
The most famous holiday in the world is Christmas.  It is a Christian holiday, but it is celebrated all over the world and people of all sorts of religions celebrate it.

But most of the world, would not believe that this just naturally happened.

I like to share answers Of why I believe my faith.

So why and how is this believable?

The easiest and most straight forward way to answer that is because the bible says it happened!
It is in the gospel of Matthew and Luke.[Matthew 1:18-23, It is also hinted at in other places in the New Testament and prophesied in the OT.
Genesis 3:15 and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
Isaiah 7: 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. "

Galatians 4: but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Now if the Bible is the Word of God that is really more than enough info. it is all you need to know the truth. But many people are just weak in the faith. They want more because they don't want to be fooled and are less trusting of scripture. But are we left with no reasons at all? Know I believe that there is always some trails in our world that God leaves to lead us to the truth. So the next step is theology. 1. We believe in the virgin birth because God did a miracle. Luke 1: 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible."2. We believe in the virgin birth because of the deity of Christ john In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. "
colossians 1:
13 who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 and he is before all things, and by him all things consist."
1 timothy 3: 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."
3. Jesus being the God man is the mediator between God and man
1 timothy 2:For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
4. Being virgin born, Jesus is not subject to the curse of original sin.
1 Corinthians 15:  20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven."
Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.."

Tradition

Apostles Creed
2. And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
3. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary: "

Nicene Creed"For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man."
It is evident that Christianity as a manifestation of the Western World universally affirmed the virgin birth as integral to the affirmation of the Gospel.

Islam/Koran
"40 Remember when the angel said: "O Mary! Verily God announceth to thee the Word from Him: His name shall be Messiah Jesus the Son of Mary, illustrious in this world, and in the next, and one of those who have near access to God;
And He shall speak to men alike when in the cradle and when grown up; and He shall be one of the just."
She said, "How my Lord?  shall I have a son, when no man hath touched me? He said, "Thus: God will create what he will; when He decreeth a thing, He only saith 'Be' and it is
." The Koran pg 390 trans. J.M. Rodwell So if you are Muslim you have to believe it too!
But if you are not a Muslim this is important for other reasons. Muhammad was illiterate.  So he received this information outside of a reading of the gospels.  In fact many other stories match up with the tradition of the gnostic gospels or NT Apocrypha.  Thus it is an unorthodox tradition centuries earlier.
The creeds show his belief to be orthodox, however other tradition were free from Catholic force and thus give a unique witness to the virgin birth.

Vile rejections
Our rabbis taught Jesus the Nazarene had five disciples, and these are they: Matthai, Naqqai, Netzer, Buni, and Todah.[53][54][55][56
The master said: Jesus the Nazarene practiced magic and deceived and led Israel astray.[57][58][59][60]
"Jesus son of Stada is Jesus son of Pandira?"
Rav Hisda said, "The husband was Stada and the lover was Pandera."
"But was not the husband Pappos son of Yehuda and the mother Stada?"
No, his mother was Miriam, who let her hair grow long and was called Stada. Pumbedita says about her: "She was unfaithful to her husband."[61][62][63][64]

It is obvious the rabbis mean to slander jesus. But by slandering him we can tell what they were slandering. Apparently Jesus had a reputation for being born of a virgin as well as doing miraculous works. This tradition in the Talmud was early and showed what the opposition really believed.  Also they could have read the same Prophets that we have.
But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting

Messianic expectation
"A firm persuasion had long prevailed through all the East,3 that it was fated for the empire of the world, at that time, to devolve on some one who should go forth from Judaea." Ancient Roman historian Suetonius

The signs were evident.
Chinese observation
“During the interval  between March 10th April 7th of 5 BC, a comet appeared close Alpha  and  Beta  Capricornii  and was visible for more than 70 days”"
Korean observation
“On March 31st of 4 BC a bushy star appeared close to Altair” (paraphrase)

The Koreans had a less reliable calendar and the similarities imply they saw the same object.
People classify this object as supernova or comet but these are naked eye sightungs"

No wonder the gentiles spoke of virgin births! It was written in the stars!
psalm 19:
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech,
and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language,
where their voice is not heard."

Thus the world knew of the coming messiah and waited for the Day that we now celebrate every year.

MERRY CHRISTIMAS!
