The concept of hell was completely foreign to the Israelites. It was a Greek idea based on Greek philosophy which stated that humans had an immortal soul that never died and either went to a place of eternal bliss, or went to a place of eternal punishment. Edward is right in saying that the word hell does not appear anywhere in the bible.
BTW - King James told the translators that their new translation could not contradict any of the church's teachings. At the time this concept of hell (where people are tortured forever) was a key teaching of the church. That is why they took 3 different Greek and deliberately mistranslated them as hell. If they hadn't then their translation would have been very embarrassing to the church.
Since a truly accurate translation would have no mention of hell...

The War over God meeting Man
From the beginning of Creation, the purpose of Lucifer's sin has been to sever the ties between Man and God. Ultimately the plan and existence of the incarnation of Jesus Christ has destroyed this goal.
Yet those with an earthly understanding wonder in amazement
and disgust. How can God become
man? The pagans, attempted this doctrine
on the half-breed Gilgamesh to no avail.
For Gilgamesh remained a mortal. The Gnostics, in protection of their platonic
“god”, had a spirit adopt Christ. The
early church vomited this notion as they remembered Paul saying, “One Lord, one
Faith”(Ephesians 4:5) and John reminding us that the spirit of antichrist would deny

Some would attempt to downgrade the divinity of Christ as only
a “son of god”. Yet this would've justified the
scribes retort, “who can forgive sins but God only?” Mark 2:9
Many would later turn against the spiritual realm and strip
Christ of divinity, only with a reputation as a great teacher. Yet, how could Christ be great, or even a
good teacher, if he were a liar claiming to be the only way to heaven? (john

Some would return to the gnostic view by claiming a Christ
of Faith separate from a Christ of history. Yet this was only the rejected false teaching
of two Christs, which would be rejected as it had earlier been.
New Age philosophers would claim that Christ was simply a guru who
taught the deification of all mankind.
This contradicts John’s teaching that Christ was the “only begotten Son
in the bosom of the father”. (john 1:18)
Scripture clearly teaches Christ as unique far from the rest of mankind. He was
unique making him an able Savior. John 3:..."that He sent His only begotten Son.."
Many have hoisted up scores of antichrists and pretenders to
replace the Biblical Jesus. But Paul
admonishes us that there is only “one mediator between God and Man, the man
Christ Jesus” 1tim. 2:5
The genealogies plant one step after another up Jacob’s
ladder; as we see Jehovah planting the “seed” of redemption deep in the earth

Some protest, "How could a Holy God be comprised in sinful flesh?" In Mary, the fetal Jesus was a sanctified temple within Mary's womb("holy thing" Luke 1:35) But how could two become one? Many pastors and theologians get fixated upon the title “Christ”. Which though reverent has always come across
to some as less personal. We have a
similar problem when speaking the word “God”.
We often mean to speak abstract about an entity. Yet the scriptures
speak “God” as a personal spirit. It is
in the incarnation that we, like David, can dance before the presence of the
almighty without the curtain under the tent.
It is here that we can look to the Messiah as Jesus. It is through Jesus that we can pray not
simply to an abstract deity; but to pray to our “Abba” Father in heaven. It is here that God reaches to us in the
spirit to bring us past slavery and into adoption.
Romans 8: 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
It is here through the Father that Satan is defeated. Romans 8:35-39. Here we kiss the Son, lest he be angry.( psalm 2) Here we know God; yet here, God knows us.

A summary of new year's cosmology hypothesis
My previous and future projects on "New Years cosmology hypothesis" have been focused on gathering a great deal of evidence in order to substantiate it's claims. However this can be an overwhelming read. Friends, such as Dr. John Gideon Hartnett, critiqued it as being "hodge-podge", that it seemed disconnected and hard to grasp. This work will be used to explain the hypothesis. The evidence will be explained in other works.
1. My first point is that matter breaks down and is not self-sufficient. The atomic structure does not stand on its own and this debunks the materialistic world view. This leads to the "holographic" universe cosmology which I debunk based on logical philosophical grounds.
2. My second point is that electromagnetic energy explains cosmological phenomena in the universe better than gravity alone. A key point in this is to reject "dark matter" which leaves 99.99_% of the universe to be plasma. Which leads to the conclusions of the "electric universe" model. However, I then debunk the electric universe model in it's contentions of an eternal universe on logical philosophical grounds.
3. Then I show that the God of the Bible answers the current crises in cosmology. That God provides the energy which organizes matter. So from here the universe is interpreted from a Theistic view.
4. I explore natural phenomenon which God has revealed to us. Specifically in the zodiac constellations and in "Polaris" the north star. That the signs of the constellations is properly interpreted as a "gospel in the stars" Two points are drawn from this study. First, the implied geocentrically. Second the intergalactic catastrophe in accord with the global flood.
5. I give evidence from failed experiments to prove heliocentrism, as evidence for a stationary earth.
6. I deal with the issue of starlight and time on several levels. By debunking "red shift" and challenging the notion of an expanding universe along side the notion of accuracy on a massive scale with the light spectrum.
7. I argue for a rotating universe surrounding the earth.
8. I posit from studies of historical astronomical observations of astrologers that there was a great catastrophe where the modern north star hangs. The "fall of Lucifer" which severs the constellation Ursa minor from Draco. That this explosion would cause a universal tilt. Another bi-product of the explosion is a gamma ray burster which strike the top of the earth.
9. The gamma rays would then bury into the earth and ignite subterranean waters. This would then, follow along with the the flood model of Walt brown. "Hydroplate theory" As well as the similar "Hovind theory" model by Kent Hovind. Especially the subterranean water shooting out 20miles from the earth a canopy of ice covering the earth being devastated.The water and dirt launched in space would be formed into asteroids and comets.
Now this cosmology has a lot of similarities with geocentric cosmologies and so it would be simply seen as geocentricity. But there are several important points of distinction as to the fact that these are different ideas.
A.Geo-centrism typically relies on the traditional gravity driven cosmology. My new years cosmology(NYC) focuses on the power of electromagnetic energy in the universe as primary as espoused in the electric universe.
B.Geo-centrism pictures the aether as all pervading space. NYC sees the aether as distinct from matter. as Genesis one makes the initial earth distinct from the initial heaven.
C.Geo-centricity espouses a universal tilt as part of creation. NYC espouses a universal tilt as the result of an intergalactic catasrophe which will initiate the flood.
D. Geo centricity establishing it's work on Thomistic philosophy which borrows from Aristotle and ignores the flood. Although many geocentrists accept the global flood. There is not much work that I have seen reconciling the cosmological implications of both. NYC is competent to do this.
E. NYC is basically geocentric, while Geocentricity is necessarily geo centric. It is not necessary in NYC have earth in a perfect center nor that the earth make no movement at any time in the universe. It is likely the earth was moved during the intergalactic catastrophe. "the principle" producer Rick Delano informed that I was not a "true" geocentrists. Though I do hold the basic tenets.
The core distinction with the mainstream of Young Earth Creationists is the desire to be in accord with popular scientific theories that are not in direct conflict YEC via the creation evolution debate. So in their flood geology you see the adherence to plate tectonic theory. In cosmology we see the adherence to Einsteins relativity theory. Also they have rejected the ice canopy theory arguing that we could not have an ice canopy today. Ignoring the fact that the earth prior to the global flood would be much different and that the model would not be the same as the vapor canopy model. Also creation scientists have not spent a great deal of time studying the electric universe cosmology due to ideological difference.
NYC is based upon my Biblical Historical Science (B.H.S) philosophy. Though one could accept my philosophy without accepting NYC. Uniformly accepted historical facts have more authority than scientific conjecture of history. We observe Science in the present. We have to be careful about imposing that upon our knowledge of the past. So you will find that NYC argues to be objective and reasonable to both the minds of the past as well as the minds of the present.

Now this cosmology has a lot of similarities with geocentric cosmologies and so it would be simply seen as geocentricity. But there are several important points of distinction as to the fact that these are different ideas.
A.Geo-centrism typically relies on the traditional gravity driven cosmology. My new years cosmology(NYC) focuses on the power of electromagnetic energy in the universe as primary as espoused in the electric universe.
B.Geo-centrism pictures the aether as all pervading space. NYC sees the aether as distinct from matter. as Genesis one makes the initial earth distinct from the initial heaven.
C.Geo-centricity espouses a universal tilt as part of creation. NYC espouses a universal tilt as the result of an intergalactic catasrophe which will initiate the flood.
D. Geo centricity establishing it's work on Thomistic philosophy which borrows from Aristotle and ignores the flood. Although many geocentrists accept the global flood. There is not much work that I have seen reconciling the cosmological implications of both. NYC is competent to do this.
E. NYC is basically geocentric, while Geocentricity is necessarily geo centric. It is not necessary in NYC have earth in a perfect center nor that the earth make no movement at any time in the universe. It is likely the earth was moved during the intergalactic catastrophe. "the principle" producer Rick Delano informed that I was not a "true" geocentrists. Though I do hold the basic tenets.
The core distinction with the mainstream of Young Earth Creationists is the desire to be in accord with popular scientific theories that are not in direct conflict YEC via the creation evolution debate. So in their flood geology you see the adherence to plate tectonic theory. In cosmology we see the adherence to Einsteins relativity theory. Also they have rejected the ice canopy theory arguing that we could not have an ice canopy today. Ignoring the fact that the earth prior to the global flood would be much different and that the model would not be the same as the vapor canopy model. Also creation scientists have not spent a great deal of time studying the electric universe cosmology due to ideological difference.
NYC is based upon my Biblical Historical Science (B.H.S) philosophy. Though one could accept my philosophy without accepting NYC. Uniformly accepted historical facts have more authority than scientific conjecture of history. We observe Science in the present. We have to be careful about imposing that upon our knowledge of the past. So you will find that NYC argues to be objective and reasonable to both the minds of the past as well as the minds of the present.

Saving Kirk's Christmas
So me and my wife Just got done watching Kirk Cameron's"Saving Christmas". I started out with irritation because we had a gift card and the movie theater wouldn't accept the card because we switched companies :( So Now I am out $20 :( and I am not aguy with a lot of money either. :(
Anyways.. Kirk starts off in a tacky over decorated Christmas living room. He is sporting a really poorly grown beard and he discusses how there are people out there who are against Christmas. That He wanted to use the film to make it his mission to bring the Christmas spirit back.
Now when I had listened to Kirk plug his movie on "The Mike Gallagher Show" one would assume that the majority of the movie would be focused on the leftist out to destroy Christmas.
But in the movie the only time the idea of a leftist Christmas exile is brought in the form of a ridiculous goof ball Christians privately giving whackjob conspiracy theories.
So then the right-winger who is destroying Christmas is His whack job Brother in law who is quiet and doesn't want to enjoy the party but sits outside. Kirk Cameron decides to embark on a quest to avenge his sisters loneliness. He confronts his brother in law in the car and sets forth His case.
He focuses on 3 issues
1. the manger scene
2. the Christmas tree
3. Santa Claus
1. Kirk comes up with a creative typology of the manger and the "swaddling clothes" being symbolic of the burial garments At Christ death.
Luke 2:16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
I find no text necessitating that the Babe was in a cave. This is a possibility, but not necessary. If the text does not demand we have such a scene then it begs the question if it intended the parallel. But this is not a dangerous conclusion or anything.
2. the defense of trees I find deceptive.He shows various typologies in the bible leading us to trees. The Tree of the knowledge of good and evil The Tree of Life and the Tree of the cross.
These are all fine. Yet kirk even after he has heard the accusation does not bring up the fact that the Bible warns against tree idolotry.
Jeremiah 10:
10 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel.
2 Thus saith the Lord: “Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For
the customs of the people are vain; for one cutteth a tree out of the
forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

are upright as the palm tree, but speak not; they must be borne,
because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them, for they cannot do evil,

We have to be careful to warn against this type of idolatry even if we do not feel we are committing it.
3. Santa Claus: Kirk reveals the factual of account of "St.Nicholaus of Myra" he shows the story of how Nicholaus punched out Arius.( I am not certain if this story has a little legend in it. But I know this is possibly a factual story.) However, though I am proudly trinitarian I do not hold to the Nicene Creed for it's false teaching of baptismal regeneration and others. The Nicene Creed was not simply theology. This creed was used as a tool to shed blood and became part of the catholic tradition of using theology for tyranny. Santa was far from the last Bishop to use such meetings for physical violence against other "ministers".
The modern imagery and tales of Santa Claus carry with it aspects of pagan mythology. Such as the sleigh riding Norse god "Odin".

When people celebrate Santa Claus are they really acknowledge a bishop as their role model or participating in religious worship of a spirit? teaching there children to offer the spirit, cookies.
However, Kirk does not deal with what the Santa stories have become. Roman and eastern orthodox Catholic tradition has this man canonized as a Saint in which case people around the world pray to him much like Mary.

So kirk encourages his brother-in-law to repent of not celebrating Christmas. So He leaps into the Christmas presents and after a heart felt apology as opposed to kissing his wife. Breaks it down into a hip hop dance-a-thon where kirk Cameron does the worm one of the dancers shows why her sweater is not appropriate for this dance at church, and even the white-boy brother can now "kick it".
Don't worry I believe in dancing before the Lord!

I only wish they could come close to bringing my swag.
The Bible also teaches religious liberty in our worship.

him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another; another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Here is the problem though we should as christians use our liberty in a wise and defensive manner. Not using it as an occaision to sin. Kirk is ignoring the fact that there is an unbiblical and sinful way of approaching Christmas and some people will be weak in the faith.
1 Corinthians 9:4Concerning
therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto
idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is
no other God but One.
5 For though there be what are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many “gods” and many “lords”),

we in Him, and one Lord Jesus Christ by whom are all things, and we by
Him.

there is not in every man that knowledge; for some, with conscience of
the idol until this hour, eat it as a thing offered unto an idol, and
their conscience, being weak, is defiled."

temple, shall not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat
those things which are offered to idols,

At the end of the day, this movie seems to be used as a way of protecting the Christmas industry. Which I can understand why Christians would not want to loose hold of of as their influence in society dwindles. And if that's the way you make a living, more power to you! But if you product is not bringing people closer to God then it is a good thing if they dump the product. This is what happens when sinners repent of idolatry.
Acts 19:17 And

Of course this would lead to Paul's arrest! :(
But God would use it for his glory :)
Christmas has been historically used for evil and also historically used for Good. Follow the convictions of the Holy Ghost and you will get out of Christmas the most ;)
